This late seventeenth-century wooden sculpture represents John the Baptist with a baby lamb at his feet. This may have originally been displayed in a home or small chapel. Carved from oak. Note that his hand has been cut off - a mourning tradition when a family member is deceased.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
