Ceramic vase by Karl Jüttner, Circa 1950s 14¼"

SKU: 17166

US$1,007

This rare and marvelous off-white sculptural ceramic piece was made by prolific potter Karl Jüttner in East Germany most likely in the 1950s/60s. Observe the textured central motifs on the front of the vase and beautiful granular matte finish to the glazing. Note the Inside is finished with a special contrasting speckled robin's egg blue glaze.

The skillfully applied techniques make this equal parts functional vase and work of art. A fabulous accent to both modern and traditional interiors. The monogram of Karl Juttner is marked lightly underneath, using his initials to form the abstract form of a person. Karl Jüttner (1921 - 2006) was a German artist whose work has been offered at auction multiple times.
