This charming antique jaspé bowl, crafted in southern France in the late 19th or early 20th century, embodies the rustic elegance of traditional Provençal pottery. Hand-thrown in terracotta, the bowl features a softly uneven form that highlights its artisanal origins and adds to its authentic, timeworn charm. Its generously curved profile is enlivened by a fluid application of ochre, green, and brown slips, typical of the jaspé technique, in which pigments are brushed, trailed, or combed to create marbled, organic effects.

The interior bears a glossy glaze, while the exterior remains unglazed, revealing the natural matte texture of the raw clay. Visible wear, light surface abrasions, and a few shallow chips along the rim speak to years of use, now transformed into a surface rich with patina.

This bowl brings warmth and a grounded sense of history to any space, ideal on a kitchen island or garden table as a rustic fruit bowl.
