Charming French Cast-Stone Garden Rabbit w/ Mossy Patina - 13"

This small French cast-stone garden rabbit has a wonderfully gentle, storybook presence, with its upright ears, rounded haunches and round painted eyes giving it an expressive silhouette. Likely dating from the mid-20th century, it retains traces of an earlier reddish painted finish beneath a richly weathered surface. Years outdoors have created a mottled gray-green patina, with moss, lichen and mineral deposits softening the modeling and adding depth to the surface. Both ears show old repairs, visible on close inspection, while the figure remains solid. Its endearing posture is enhanced by the passage of time and years of outdoor exposure, which have softened the original form and enriched the surface with a wonderfully nostalgic patina. 

Tucked among pots, herbs or low planting, it would feel naturally at home in the garden, while on a covered terrace or even indoors, the mossy surface and faded color would bring a note of French country charm.
