This petite French armchair in the Louis XV style, from the late 19th to early 20th century, has a deep, low seat with softly rolled arms that flow into a rounded back. Echoing the fauteuil crapaud in its cozy, enveloping stance, it invites lounging while showcasing the refinement of its ornate carved frame. The structure, with serpentine apron, shell and acanthus motifs, and cabriole legs ending in scroll feet, is finished in pale blue-grey with a softly rubbed surface.
The chair is currently not upholstered but stripped to its bare garniture; kept as is, it lends an authentic antique feel, though it can easily be reupholstered to suit personal taste. The frame is structurally sound, with weathered painted surfaces showing age and character. Its small scale and inviting shape give it a charming, almost playful presence.
Perfect for a bedroom corner, a dressing room, or a cozy reading nook, it brings comfort and character without overwhelming the space. Retain the stripped garniture for a raw, timeworn aesthetic, or cover it in mohair velvet for richness, striped linen for a light Provençal feel, or subtle damask for a more formal setting.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
