A charming artisan-made set of 24 French stoneware plates, comprising 12 dinner and 12 dessert plates, each hand-painted with stylized rooster designs in three different variations. The plates feature broad, slightly flared rims outlined with twin dark bands and central motifs in chestnut, black, and cobalt on a softly speckled oatmeal glaze. Each piece shows subtle differences in size and shape, highlighting their handmade nature. Durable and full of rustic character, the set is equally suited for everyday use or as a decorative display in a farmhouse or country kitchen. Unsigned, a few minor chips.
Ideal for a farmhouse kitchen or a contemporary space seeking a grounded, rural note, the service layers beautifully with plain white porcelain and linen. Stack for daily use on open shelving beside copper or patinated brass, or mount a selection as a wall display to echo the rhythmic rooster roundels. On a trestle table or breakfast nook, the warm neutrals and graphic birds bring easy charm to relaxed dining.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
