An endearing terracotta figural group by Charles Perron (1862–1934), circa 1900, depicting a young girl playing with a large dog in a naturalistic and intimate scene. Modelled in warm buff terracotta with a matte surface, the sculpture displays careful attention to drapery, flowing hair, and the richly textured coat of the animal. The composition rests on an integral plinth incised “Charles Perron” to the front. Condition is good, with gentle wear to the high points consistent with age, enhancing the softness of the modelling. The interaction between the figures is rendered with restraint, conveying a quiet, affectionate moment.
Perron was active at the turn of the century, producing domestic and animal subjects in bronze and terracotta that reflect the period’s interest in everyday life observed with sensitivity. Appreciated for its subject and approachable scale, this piece sits comfortably on a mantel, console, or library shelf, where it brings warmth and a subtle narrative presence to the interior.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
