A charming glazed terracotta confit pot from the early 20th century, this rounded vessel features a soft oatmeal-to-pale olive glaze, a wide mouth, and a pronounced rolled rim. The twin loop handles are attached directly at the rim, an uncommon and visually striking profile. Years of use have softened the surface, with heat-toned variation and a fine network of crazing that suggests it once held warm contents. The beautifully timeworn patina includes small chips to the rim and foot and scattered glaze losses at the handles, all consistent with age and contributing to its quiet authenticity.
Set on a kitchen island to hold utensils, or on a console filled with dried stems, it lends an easy, collected warmth to a space. The generous opening also makes it well suited as a planter or vase with a liner, or repurposed in an atelier or workshop to hold brushes or tools.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
