This colorful French faience wash set, stamped by the Saint-Amand manufactory, comprises a tall pitcher, a broad circular basin, and a rectangular soap dish. Crafted in white tin-glazed earthenware, it features a vibrant transfer Art Deco–style geometric pattern in cobalt and midnight blue accented with bright orange roundels. Such bedroom wash sets were standard before indoor plumbing, the jug for fresh water, the basin for washing, and the small tray for soap or hairpins. In very good vintage condition, it retains its crisp lines and lively colors, bringing a touch of nostalgic elegance to any interior. Saint Amand les Eaux was a major center of French faïence from the eighteenth century, and in the interwar years the Faïenceries de Saint Amand, including Moulin des Loups and Hamage, were known for brightly colored transfer and stencil work that suited modern interiors. This set brings a striking graphic presence to a marble-topped washstand, bathroom vanity, or guest room dresser, adding both a bright touch of color and a nostalgic nod to the beauty rituals of another era.
