"I used to have them on display on a little rack," Patricia recalls. Gathered over years of living between Paris and Provence, they range from full teaspoon size down to the most delicate demitasse proportions, each one distinct in weight, proportion and decoration.

One bears what appears to be a monogram, another a floral motif touched with enamel — a small rose in red and white — that sets it apart from the rest. The bowls vary too, from deep and rounded to shallower, more elongated forms. The silver has the warm, slightly uneven lustre that comes only with age and use, each spoon catching the light differently depending on its finish and weight.

Display them as Patricia once did, on a small wall-mounted rack, or arrange them in a shallow dish on a kitchen shelf. Either way, they bring a sense of accumulated history and considered taste to any interior.
