An adorable collection of eight miniature French ceramic children’s-size pottery “taraïettes". This collection of miniature ceramic pots made the perfect vessels for measuring out mise-en-place teaspoon-size ingredients such as salt, pepper, or spices during Patricia's beloved cooking classes at her home in Provence. Note the charming shapes and varying glaze colors ranging from yellow to green to white. The forms mimic miniature versions of larger classic French country cooking pots, and most were made originally for use in a child's play kitchen. See examples shown in images excerpted from the French pottery book below.
Patricia adores the playful story and thinks they bring out our inner child at heart.
Note one is stamped beneath by a modern French maker “Poterie Massucco”. See similar examples on pages included from Terres de Feu. Amouric, Henri, et al. Terres de Feu, de Lumière et de Songes ...: Dans Le Midi Français, Xe-XXE Siècles. Agglomération Pays d’Aubagne, 2010.
