This contemporary bronze sculpture is by Italian artist and designer Ricardo Scarpa (1905-1999). Signed on the base in front of the left foot. It has a nice bronze patina and will complement both modern and traditional interiors.

A pupil of De Loto and Carlo Lorenzetti at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, Riccardo Scarpa arrived in Paris in 1928. He lived in France until his death in 1999. In 1974, the Society of French Artists awarded him the gold medal for the body of work he exhibited at the Salon des artistes français .
