This large Directoire buffet dates from the early-nineteenth century. The stone top has been recently replaced with stone from the Jura region of France and the finish has been repainted in light blue-gray with a beige trim. There are two doors that open with keys - the center panel with the diamond motif is fixed in place. Inside there are cut-out shelves up high (perfect for glassware) and a larger storage area below the shelf. The timber is walnut. This will bring a touch of French country to any interior and would be lovely displayed against the wall in the kitchen for extra counter space (it is relatively tall) or behind a sofa.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
