Early 19th century chestnut bench seat

Sourced from the Cévennes region in southern-central France, this chestnut bench was originally used for a cantou or inglenook.

Two drawers can be accessed from the front, with additional storage accessed via a folding seat. A side table can be folded out and secured in place using an iron latch.

The bench is 41 ¾" long (50" with the side table folded out) x 17½" deep x 33½" high.
