This grand overmantel mirror dates to around 1820 and retains its original two-part mercury glass, which remains remarkably clear with very little foxing. The giltwood frame displays a soft, time-mellowed sheen that brings warmth and quiet grandeur to a room. Its large scale and classic profile create an elegant focal point, while the surviving mercury glass offers a subtle, luminous depth characteristic of mirrors from this period. Graceful and versatile, this mirror adds light and proportion to both traditional and contemporary spaces. Place it above a mantel to anchor a room with historic character, or lean it against a wall in a living area or entryway to expand the sense of space. The clarity of the mercury glass and the gentle luster of the gilt frame bring a refined glow to stone, wood, and painted surfaces, making this mirror a timeless accent that softens and elevates the atmosphere of any interior.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
Note: Mirrors have been photographed facing fabric, a technique that reveals any age spots in the glass. In some cases, this may create the appearance of an empty frame, but each mirror is complete except where explicitly stated.
