A rare, weighty cast iron French post box from the early-twentieth century. Named the Mougeotte model after the man who decided that post boxes should be locked and secure. Made and branded by the Delachanal Foundry. The pale blue patina is wonderfully timeworn. The enamel date and days of the week can be easily changed. Lock is the original, key has been replaced but functions.

Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
