A petite bar carafe in mouth-blown, mould-pressed clear glass, this charming French piece dates to the early 20th century and bears the embossed legend “Anis Le Rêve,” an evocative nod to café culture and the relaxed aperitif rituals of the Belle Époque. The glass retains the subtle irregularities of traditional mouth-blown production: a neck that sits slightly off true, a softly uneven raised pattern from shoulder to base, and a gently varied wall thickness that catches the light with quiet appeal.
The glass retains a lovely clarity with a faint milky bloom at the base, lending it the soft, frosted quality of age. Condition is very good overall, with only minor surface wear consistent with honest use and a century of well-lived life.
Simple and full of character, it works equally well on a kitchen shelf, sideboard, or table, adding a quiet touch of French charm. Grouped with other glassware, set on a bistro-style table, or placed on a windowsill with a single stem, it is an unpretentious piece that brings gentle atmosphere to a room.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
