An early 20th-century wall light with a lyrical, scrolled arm in cast metal, finished in its original warm brown patina with soft gilt highlights. The foliate wall mount and rosette detail reflect the turn-of-the-century taste for flowing, organic lines, while the ribbed prismatic glass shade, a later replacement, diffuses the light beautifully. Likely salvaged from a bar, café, or restaurant interior in France, the piece carries the refined allure of public-space fittings from the period. The gently timeworn surface, with subtle wear to the patina, enhances its authentic antique character and sense of history.
This sculptural sconce brings a warm, inviting glow and a refined accent to an entry or library, where its generous reach can illuminate a console, artwork, or desk surface. It also works beautifully above a bathroom mirror and it pairs beautifully with painted paneling, marble, and antique leather.
