A slender French bistro table dating from the early 20th century, constructed in iron with a notably light and elegant profile. A narrow central stem rises from a circular weighted base and branches into three curved supports beneath the thin round top, giving the simple form an unexpectedly refined rhythm. The surface retains a particularly expressive patina, with layers of blue and cream paint interrupted by areas of oxidation and exposed metal, creating a richly mottled, almost painterly effect. The inscription “Marchand Grenoble” on the base provides a direct link to its origin in Grenoble. The table remains structurally sound and ready to use, with wear and surface oxidation consistent with age and long use.
