This French iron table likely dates from the early 20th century and has a lightweight but beautifully hand-worked wrought iron base, with elegantly curved supports joined by visible rivets and shaped stretchers connecting the legs below. Small rounded feet complete the frame. The warm reddish-painted surface is probably a recent repaint, though scattered wear and areas of oxidation already give it the softly aged charm of vintage garden furniture. The current glass top simply rests on the iron base, and is a later replacement. It was likely preceded by a heavier top, possibly marble; the transparency of the glass has the advantage of revealing the graceful ironwork beneath while giving the table a lighter, more contemporary feel.
