This elegant French tureen is part of the "Régent" model by Longchamp, dating from circa 1880 to 1910. Crafted in _terre de fer _(ironstone), a durable glazed earthenware typical of the period, it features a soft ivory ground adorned with a delicate rose-pink motif of scrolling foliage and classical flourishes. The balanced proportions, graceful footed base, and square-loop handle lend the piece a refined yet practical charm characteristic of French domestic tableware from the Belle Époque.
The stamp on the base bears the “Régent / Longchamp” mark along with the intertwined “RC” monogram, confirming its production under Robert Charbonnier’s direction, who led the Longchamp faïencerie from 1878 to 1912. This period is widely recognized for its high-quality ceramics that combined decorative elegance with everyday functionality.
The gentle aging of the glaze and motif adds authenticity and warmth to this well-preserved example. Perfect as a display piece in a farmhouse kitchen or for use in a vintage-inspired setting, this tureen brings quiet grandeur and a genuine sense of nostalgia and history
