A charming painting of a young farm boy wearing a hat, resting in the summer shade beneath verdant trees. Dating from the late-nineteenth to early twentieth century, signed Philipp Helmer (1846 - 1912). Oil on board, signed in the bottom right. It is framed in a lovely antique two-tone wooden frame.
Philipp Helmer (1846-1912) was a German painter born in Trippstadt and primarily lived and worked in Munich. He was known for his portraits, genre scenes, and landscapes, characterized by detailed representation and vibrant colors. Helmer's works were highly regarded and exhibited in various galleries. His paintings remain sought after in art collections and auctions today
