A small rustic wooden domino box with exposed dovetail joints and a hand-carved thumb pull on the sliding lid. The wood has an unfinished, workshop character, with natural tonal variations and the quiet marks of age that lend it authenticity.
Inside rests a set of 28 handmade bone-and–tinted-wood dominoes, the dark backs stained to evoke ebony. Each tile is pegged with tiny brass pins, and the surfaces show a charming, timeworn patina consistent with a set made around 1900. Evocative of early family games and well-loved toys, it brings a gentle vintage touch to a game room, office, or library, equally delightful displayed on a shelf as it is brought out for play.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
