This early 20th-century earthenware night vase from Provence is finished in a soft honey glaze. Wheel-thrown with a gently tapering cylindrical form, a generous rim, and a simple loop handle, it reflects the honest utility of regional workshop production. The surface shows fine craquelure, areas of glaze loss, and small rim nicks, creating a pleasingly timeworn character that speaks to its age and use.
Today it serves beautifully as a kitchen utensil holder or as a brush pot in a studio or atelier, bringing quiet warmth and authentic texture to a work surface. Style it on open shelving beside cutting boards and copper, or set it on a desk to gather pencils and tools. With a simple glass or liner, it can also host flowers or greenery, lending a mellow, lived-in note to an entry, bath, or sunlit corner.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
