This petite rolling serving table in stripped pine has been fully sanded, revealing a pale, sun-faded tone and a dry, tactile surface marked by age. Old cracks, scattered ancient wormholes, and softened edges lend the piece an authentic, shabby chic character. A shaped gallery frames the top, with two small drawers fitted with tassel-form brass pulls, while subtle gilt-painted banding trims the edges and introduces a refined contrast. Turned legs support a lower shelf, and four spoked brass castors allow for easy movement. Likely French and dating to the early to mid 20th century, the table was originally intended for tea or dessert service.
Style it as a compact bar, a bedside table, or a movable side table beside a pair of armchairs. The pale pine and warm brass add a gentle luminosity to neutral schemes, while the raised gallery keeps glassware, books, or a floral arrangement secure. It works equally well in a kitchen for morning coffee service or in a bathroom set with folded towels. Its modest scale and graceful wear bring relaxed elegance and an easy sense of history to any room.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
