This characterful glazed ceramic jug likely dates from the mid-20th century and features a rounded body covered in a warm, bright yellow glaze with subtle speckling and tonal variation. Three substantial ribbed handles rise from the shoulder and frame the opening, while applied bands of clay, decorated with rhythmic thumb-pressed impressions, run vertically and diagonally across the body, giving the surface a deliberately handmade, almost primitive quality. Several firing cracks are visible, so the jug should be considered decorative rather than watertight, although it remains structurally sound and solid.
The combination of bold yellow glaze, unusual shape and tactile decoration gives the piece a lively, expressive presence. It would work beautifully on a shelf, table or kitchen dresser, either left empty as a sculptural object or used with a discreet liner to hold flowers or branches.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
