This striking eight-light chandelier is crafted from gilt bronze and lavishly adorned with an abundance of glass pendants, combining clear and deep ruby-red elements to dramatic effect. Inspired by the celebrated chandeliers of Murano, this example is most likely of French manufacture, reinterpreting Venetian exuberance with its own distinctive charm. The scrolling gilt bronze frame is lavishly adorned with an array of clear and ruby-red cut and moulded glass ornaments, creating a dazzling interplay of light and texture. Among them are finely crafted apples and pears, delicate floral rosettes, and elegant faceted drops. Particularly enchanting are the petite clusters of ruby-red beads, evocative of bunches of grapes or redcurrants.
The abundant fruit-inspired embellishments and vivid red accents create a sense of joyful opulence, giving the chandelier a romantic exuberance and theatrical presence that immediately draws the eye. A true statement piece, this chandelier is ideal for adding colour, sparkle, and a sense of extravagance to an entrance hall, dining room, or kitchen. Whether placed in a period interior or used as a dramatic contrast in a more contemporary setting, it offers timeless decorative appeal and undeniable personality.
