A late 18th-century Louis XVI commode, nicely proportioned and crafted in warm walnut, featuring elegant fruitwood banding across each of the three full-width drawers. The drawers are fitted with patinated brass rosette ring pulls and circular escutcheons. Square stiles descend to tapered legs with small brass caps, the whole presenting a rich nut-brown tone enhanced by a varnished finish with a warm, lustrous sheen.
The locks have been removed, and the brass pulls are likely later replacements showing slight misshaping. The surface displays a timeworn patina, with gentle abrasions, light marks to the top, and a few small veneer nicks to the banding, all unobtrusive and contributing to its authentic character. The top shows slight warping, adding to its individuality and sense of age.
Ideal in a bedroom, entry, or living space, this commode brings both structure and warmth to an interior. Style it beneath a mirror with a pair of lamps or candlesticks to highlight its clean neoclassical lines. The balanced proportions and rich tone pair equally well with antique pieces and more contemporary settings, offering a grounded yet elegant presence.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
