A late nineteenth / early twentieth-century oil on canvas over wood by Frederick, Fred Stead (1863-1940). A bucolic scene with an English country home and landscape. Stead's works include portraits and landscapes and his works have been exhibited in Royal Academy, the Bradford Museums & Galleries art collection, and in the public art galleries at Calderdale, Salford and Preston. His wife was also an artist.
This painting has been cleaned and re-varnished and retains original frame.
