Crafted from solid oak, this gateleg table dates to around 1930 and is a wonderful example of practical early 20th-century design. Its drop-leaf construction allows it to fold down into a compact footprint when not in use, making it an ideal choice for smaller dining rooms, kitchens, or multifunctional living spaces. The elegantly turned legs and traditional gateleg supports create a pleasing sense of rhythm and visual presence, lending the piece its distinctive character.
When extended, the table comfortably seats four. Although the oval top appears generous, the traditional gateleg supports occupy the seating positions at either end, naturally limiting comfortable seating to four guests.
As is common with antique gateleg tables of this age, the leaves no longer sit perfectly flush when fully extended, a subtle reminder of its decades of service. The oak displays a rich, dark finish that appears to have been tinted, with gentle wear to the colour in places, allowing glimpses of the timber beneath. This honest patina enhances the table's warmth and character, telling the story of a well-loved piece that has gracefully aged over time.
A versatile and authentic antique that combines functionality with enduring appeal, equally suited to everyday use or as a characterful addition to a timeless interior.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
