This charming ironstone jar dates to the 19th century. Originally made for preserves such as jam and mustard, the original lid was fabric, fastened to the upper lip of the jar. Beautifully branded this is a special find. There is a makers mark underneath reading Déposé terre de fer MC which is the stamp of creil montereau creamware.
