Escargot picks - x 9 in transparent snail from Burgundy - 4¼"

SKU: 13991

These superb escargot picks are attributed to Sabino due to the superb opalescent glass. The glass is molded, and then worked by hand. There are 9 metal picks with little snails on top. This is so French / Bourguignon! A superb gift for a Francophile. Early twentieth-century.

Marius Ernest Sabino (1878-1961) was born in Sicily and moved to Paris. After attending the L'Ecole Nationale des Arts Decoratifs and the Beaux Arts de Paris, he became very passionate about glass making. He created molds that he poured opalescent glass into. Sabino and Lalique are the leaders of this style of decorative glass.
