Originally developed for military officers and travelers, campaign furniture was created to be portable, durable, and functional, with pieces designed to fold or dismantle easily for transport.
The teak boards have weathered to a warm pale tone with visible grain, old stains, marks, and scattered traces of faded vermilion paint across the surface. The plank top has naturally shifted over time and is no longer perfectly flat, with old filler inserted between certain boards, an honest and atmospheric detail that enhances the table’s authentic period charm. The worn vermilion-painted iron structure, with its chipped and oxidized surface, contrasts beautifully with the softened teak and speaks to long use and exposure.
Equally at home indoors or on a covered terrace, this table works beautifully as a dining table, console, or studio worktable. Despite its generous scale, it remains relatively lightweight and still folds easily, allowing it to be moved or stored with practicality. Its slim depth and slender frame make it particularly versatile and visually unobtrusive, while the weathered teak and timeworn iron introduce authentic character to any interior.Condition and patina consistent with age.
