This superb, very large Biot jar dates from the nineteenth century. Made from terracotta with a lovely timeworn patina. Hand thrown in the Mediterranean village of Biot, these jars were originally used for storing and transporting olives and olive oil - note the olive-like form of the jar. A classic choice for both modern and traditional interiors and landscapes.
