A lovely mantle clock with a classical bust on top and a Roman centurion soldier holding a wreath of laurels symbolizing victory standing to the side atop a scene of Roman figures carved in the base. Made of bronze with an intricately hand-carved relief. The sculpted story around the base of the clock includes several scenes with a chariot, and manned warships approaching the shore with a classical temple in the distance.
There are laurel branches around the base and dolphins dress the two front feet. The clock includes Roman numerals. Note: This clock is in good functioning order at the time of photography, however, please allow for recalibrating upon arrival for optimal functionality. Circa 1840s in France.
