French Art Deco Hand-Painted Ceramic Plate w/ Glossy Blue Floral Decoration, 1930s–1950s - 8¼"

This charming small French decorative plate likely dates from the 1930s to the 1950s. Its gently scalloped outline is covered in a warm creamy glaze and decorated by hand with a generous bouquet of flowers in a beautiful range of turquoise, cobalt and softer blue tones. The glossy enamels pool and merge in places, giving the petals an almost jewel-like depth, while fine brown lines loosely define the stems and foliage. A few small chips are visible around the rim, together with scattered firing irregularities that give the surface additional texture and character. The reverse bears a triangular C.A.P. mark. Although the workshop behind it remains little documented, the presence of this signature points to a more deliberate art-pottery production rather than anonymous utilitarian ware.

The soft cream ground and luminous blue floral decoration give the plate a fresh, almost painterly quality that feels both decorative and relaxed.
