French Art Deco White Glass Floor Lamp w/ Custom Fringed Shade - 67"

This French Art Deco floor lamp, probably dating from the 1930s–40s, combines a tall, slender construction with a fanciful, deliberately oversized custom-made fringed shade that sits above it almost like a sun hat. The stem is built from a succession of molded opaque white glass sections, shaped as fluted and baluster-like elements and separated by narrow brass collars that add subtle shimmer. The column rises from a brass tripod base with three long, curving feet, further emphasizing the lamp’s light, elongated silhouette.

The articulated fitting allows the light and shade to be angled, with the switch positioned at the socket. The lamp has been carefully rewired and restored in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence by a specialist in historic lighting and remains in very good condition.

With its tall, delicate stem and exaggerated fringed shade, the lamp has an almost couture quality, at once playful and refined. It would work particularly well beside a low armchair in a bedroom or dressing room.
