More about Les Cyclades pottery atelier:

Founded by Roland François Zobel (1945 - 2004). He trained at the École des Beaux Arts de Bourges and the International School of Ceramics in Faenza (Italy) before he created the "Cyclades" pottery in the Gard region, in the village of Générargues, between Alès and Anduze. The location is significant, as the town of Anduze has been an important center of pottery production (tableware, tiles, pipes, fountains, oil jars, etc.) since the 17th century. He then created the "Madeleine" pottery atelier in 1987 to revive the Anduze vase. He is known for his contributions and dedication in helping a large number of potters, ceramists, artists and craftspeople in the region. He was also the son of celebrated Martinique writer Joseph Zobel ("Rue case-nègre").
