A classic French Stockman dress form mounted on a black-painted wooden tripod stand. Covered in natural linen and stamped "Prêt-à-Porter Stockman Paris", this mannequin reflects the heritage of one of France's most celebrated makers of professional tailoring forms.
Founded in the 19th century, Stockman became synonymous with French fashion and couture, supplying dress forms to ateliers, fashion houses, and design schools throughout the country.
This example is notable for its generous proportions and larger scale. Bearing the size 56 stamp, it features broad shoulders, a fuller silhouette, and elegant lines that give it a particularly strong sculptural presence.
The linen covering has mellowed beautifully with age, displaying light marks, discoloration, and gentle wear consistent with decades of use. These signs of age only enhance its appeal, while the black-painted stand remains sturdy and stable.
It now makes a wonderful decorative object for a bedroom, dressing room, boutique, or creative workspace. Whether used to showcase clothing and jewellery or appreciated as a sculptural piece in its own right, it evokes the atmosphere of a Parisian fashion atelier while celebrating the enduring craftsmanship associated with French couture.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
