The richly ornamented front rail features Renaissance-inspired strapwork, rosettes, scrolling foliage, and a central mascaron above turned and lightly fluted front legs joined by four stretchers, including a foliate-carved front stretcher. Stripped back to its under-upholstery, the chair is ready to be recovered in the fabric of your choice. The seat remains firm and supportive, while the walnut retains a rich, mellow patina with light wear consistent with age.
