A substantial French workshop or florist’s table, probably dating from the early 20th century, with the robust construction associated with practical work furniture. The broad rectangular top is edged on three sides by a low gallery, a useful feature on a potting or florist’s table for keeping tools, pots, stems, and loose materials from slipping off the work surface, while two deep drawers with simple iron cup handles provide generous storage below. One drawer front has a noticeably worn, irregular lower edge, the result of long use, which only adds to the table’s rustic charm and sense of history.

Square legs and low stretchers give the piece a solid, grounded structure, while the overhanging top adds a lighter sense of proportion. Its later white-painted finish has developed a beautifully worn patina, with areas of exposed wood and surface wear that preserve its rustic character, while the pale color itself softens the table’s substantial form and gives it a lighter visual presence.

Its country charm is matched by real versatility. Equally beautiful as extra prep space in a kitchen, a console behind a sofa, or a display table in a conservatory or garden room. Wherever it is placed, the worn white finish helps keep its sturdy proportions feeling light and easy in the room.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
