19th century French yellow ware preserving jars – two


Set of two French yellow ware jars, originally used for jams and conserves. The lip at the top of the jar was for fastening a fabric cover. There is a spiral pattern on their bases and their origin is the alpine region of Haute-Savoie. Patina consistent with age and use. 

Sizes are: 

2 x Approx. 4¼” diameter x 4¾” high
