19th century French yellow ware preserving jar – two

Set of two French yellow ware jars, originally used for jams and conserves. The lip at the top of the jar was for fastening a fabric cover. There is a spiral pattern on their bases and their origin is the alpine region of Haute-Savoie. Patina consistent with age and use.

Sizes are:

1 x Approx. 4¼” diameter x 4¾” high
1 x Approx. 4½” diameter x 5” high

1 x Approx. 10.5cm diameter x 12cm high
1 x Approx. 11.5cm diameter x 12.5cm high
