This striking hand-painted glass pendant features a gently domed shade set against a pale rose ground, decorated with a detailed panoramic scene of Angkor-style temple towers framed by palms and lush foliage. Encircling the lower rim, the landscape reflects the early 20th century fascination with exotic architecture and distant travel. The shade is finished with a curtain of glass bead fringe, which adds movement and a soft, shimmering texture. Likely produced between the 1920s and 1930s, this piece blends romantic escapism with refined craftsmanship. The pendant retains its original brass gallery for hanging, showing a warm, time-earned patina, and the painted decoration remains vibrant with only minor age softening. The bead fringe shows scattered losses and areas of thinning and may benefit from light restoration. Please note that the hanging chain is not included.
Hung over a dressing table, a reading corner, or a in petite entry, the shade casts a soft rosy glow while the fringe shimmers delicately with movement. Pair it with warm metals, natural woods, and linen to emphasize its relaxed romance, or let it punctuate an Art Deco or eclectic scheme. It can also be swagged from a ceiling hook for an intimate pool of light that brings a gentle, storied atmosphere to any room.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
Must be rewired and installed in accordance with local electrical requirements.
