Handsome Louis Philippe Walnut Commode - 34¼" x 50½"

A handsome French Louis Philippe commode from the mid-19th century, made in solid walnut with striking burr walnut veneer on the drawer fronts, which catch the light in warm amber and deep brown tones. A slim top drawer features discreet recessed pulls underneath, while the three larger drawers retain their original gilded ring handles with pretty floral garland motifs. The piece stands on turned bun feet and offers generous storage with balanced, elegant proportions. 

The piece is in excellent overall condition, with only a few age-related marks: light cracks to the side panels, minor stains to the top, and slight oxidation to the hardware. The locks are functional (two keys remaining), requiring only minor adjustment to align the drawers properly, and one drawer front has been sensitively and discreetly restored. The interior is as pleasing as the exterior.
