A grand late 19th-century architectural birdcage of impressive scale, modeled as a railway station with a central arched portal flanked by pavilion wings. Crafted in painted wood and iron wire, it is finished in deep green with gilt cresting, pierced balustrades, and vivid red accents to the chimneys and window frames. Shuttered windows, tiered doors, spired finials, and a central oculus medallion animate the façade with charming detail. In good, timeworn condition, with scattered paint wear and small losses; one finial is missing and the upper doors are now fixed closed.
Combining detailed woodworking and metalwork, such architectural aviaries were conceived as both functional cages and decorative showpieces, bringing a sense of whimsy and charm into the home or conservatory. As a decorative statement, it introduces architectural presence and playful detail to a covered terrace, entry hall, or garden room.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
