An Italian modernist six-light chandelier from the 1950s or 1960s, constructed in the manner of Stilnovo. The graphic brass structure is built around a central, Sputnik-style spherical hub with six radiating conical sockets. This core is enclosed by an open, diamond-shaped cage made of slender brass rods, which feature broad looping curves at the sides. The metalwork utilizes a two-tone finish, contrasting warm golden brass with darker bronzed sections to define the geometric framework. The design balances a strict, space-age architectural form with subtle decorative details, notably the scalloped edges around each socket. Because of its fine framework and open construction, the fixture maintains a sculptural quality that remains visually light from various viewing angles.
The chandelier is in good vintage condition, with natural surface oxidation creating subtle tonal variation across the two-tone brass and adding depth to the metalwork. It would make a strong accent in a minimalist or contemporary interior, where its sculptural form could take center stage. Suspended above a wood dining table or in an open stairwell, its graphic framework and airy, sculptural construction can be appreciated from multiple angles.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
Must be rewired and installed in accordance with local electrical requirements.
