A wonderfully decorative eight-light chandelier, probably Italian and dating from the 1960s, made from painted sheet metal. Its light, open framework is wrapped with trailing ivy leaves in soft pale green and cream tones, while the candle cups introduce warmer rust and ochre accents. The irregularities, rubbing, and oxidation are particularly appealing here, giving the chandelier a beautifully layered patina and emphasizing the hand-worked character of the metal. Traces of an earlier electrification remain; the chandelier could be rewired relatively easily by a professional, or used with candles for a softer, more atmospheric effect.
Its charm lies in the balance between rustic simplicity and decorative flourish. The airy silhouette keeps the eight-light form from feeling heavy, while the trailing ivy introduces movement and a distinctly romantic, whimsical quality. Hung above a dining table, in a garden room, or beneath old beams, it would bring softness, texture, and an almost storybook charm to an interior.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
No electrical wiring included.
