A superb Directoire / Louis XVI Bergère square back armchair dating from the eighteenth century, France. This piece is marked by its maker, Cressent, and upholstered in a pretty red velvet fabric. Its wood frame is painted a warm white color. The armrests feature a swirled escargot design at their ends. Its four feet are decorated with die joins. This beautiful piece will bring an instant French charm and elegance to any room it enters.
