This large gilded mantle mirror dates from the eighteenth-century. It has a parclose frame (small mirrored pieces within the frame) and the elaborate pediment is decorated with a basket of flowers. It has two feet and should also be supported with a hook behind if displaying on the fireplace or sitting on a commode.
Note: Mirrors have been photographed facing fabric, a technique that reveals any age spots in the glass. In some cases this may create the appearance of an empty frame, but each mirror is complete except where explicitly stated.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
